Hosted an fun event for the college support staff:

Some efforts often go unnoticed, some heroes often left unsung and some acts often remain unacknowledged.
To celebrate the unsung heroes of our college, who make sure that our comfort is atop, we proudly hosted an evening filled with fun for the support staff of our college.

Seminar on 'Sensitization towards Animal Protection'

NSS SRCC in collaboration with NGO STRAW organised a seminar on 31st October, 2018 based on the theme : Sensitization towards Animal Protection. Vasanthi Kumar and Yukti Takur were the speakers who talked about how to take care of animals around us and help them when in need.

Visit to Cancer Patients:

NSS , SRCC organised a visit to Delhi State Cancer Institute on 28th October, 2018. Volunteers spent some quality time with the patients and their relatives. We were glad to receive such hearty responses from them as they really enjoyed our company. It was truly a wonderful experience for the volunteers as they understood the importance of not giving up in any phase of life.

FAILURE IS A PART OF LIFE:

Volunteers of our unit visited Sarol Government Senior Secondary School on 12th October, 2018 and conducted a workshop for senior class students. The main theme of the workshop was ‘FAILURE IS A PART OF LIFE’. Volunteers interacted with students by telling stories and real life examples of great personalities who faced failure in life

VISIT TO BLIND SCHOOL.jpg

Visit to Blind School:

NSS, SRCC visited a blind school (Akhil Bhartiya Netrahin Sangh) on 18 April 2019 to get an insight into the life of blind students.The volunteers were amazed to see Braille scripts, different tools used by student for writing, concept of 6 dots, great efforts by teachers and the students zeal to learn and excel. The best part was, patriotic song sung by a student along with playing harmonium.The volunteers had much to learn from their ability beyond disability.

E-Waste Collection Drive.jpg

E-Waste Collection Drive:

National Service Scheme, SRCC in association with E-waste Recyclers India successfully conducted an e-waste collection drive in Rohini Heights, a residential society in Rohini on Sunday, 4th November 2018. Volunteers went door to door for collection of electronic devices such as mobile phones chargers, wires, appliances etc. that were no longer in working condition or needed.

Visit to Arya Model Public School:

NSS, SRCC conducted a poster making competition for the students of class 3rd to 5th in Arya Model Public School, Timarpur. The students were given topics related to environmental issues.Post the competition, a workshop on importance of reusing and recycling discarded items was held in which NSS volunteers demonstrated how to make newspaper bags and innovative new items using plastic bottles. 

Visit to Vardaan Senior Citizen Centre.j

Visit to Vardaan Senior Citizen Centre:

 NSS, SRCC visited Vardaan Senior Citizen Centre, Malviya Nagar on 17th February, 2019.
They had a talk with the people there, enjoyed singing some old songs and also donated clothes in their centre.
Gratitude is a word taken for granted. All we have to do is to express it, unblushed!

Visit to Orphanage:

NSS, SRCC organised a visit to Bachchon Ka Ghar, an orphanage, on 17th January 2019. Volunteers played various games, danced along with kids on various songs, interacted with them and had a jolly time with them. The main highlight of the visit was the skit which was prepared by the volunteers for the kids and was shown twice on the demand of kids. The kids really enjoyed the event and were all smiles. 

Plastic Waste Collection Drive.jpg

Plastic Waste Collection Drive:

NSS, SRCC organised a plastic waste collection drive on 27th January, 2019 (Sunday) in State Bank Colony, New Delhi. Volunteers went at doorsteps to collect the plastic trash and successfully gathered approximately 40 kg of waste, which was sold to a scrap dealer for recycling. NSS volunteers also spread awareness about reducing the usage of plastic products.Residents of the colony were grateful to NSS members and look forward for more of such drives.

Visit to Autism Centre:

NSS, SRCC realising the needs to socially support Autistic kids, organised a 3-day revisit to Action for Autism centre to participate in the Republic Day celebrations .

The volunteers felt ecstatic to see kids born with inbuilt talent of writing poems, singing, dancing and what not. Attracting the same energy, the volunteers did March Past alongwith the kids and filled patriotism in the environment.

HEALTH CHECKUP CAMP.jpg

Health Checkup Camp:

NSS, SRCC organised a health check-up camp in college today, as a part of its 'Social Health week', in collaboration with MIW foundation and Artemis hospitals. Specialised doctors and nurses came from Artemis hospital with proper equipments of BP and sugar testing, ENT and ECG testing. More than 100 people including students, teaching and non-teching staff and Sanskar students came to get themselves checked. The event was a success and was appreciated by everyone

Earth Day

As a part of Earth Day celebration, NSS team visited transit camp to demonstrate support for environment by showing documentaries based on environmental issues. This was followed by an interactive session with kids, whereby, they were taught to adopt green dood deeds.

Blood Donation Camp:

NSS SRCC in association with Rotary blood bank organised blood donation drive in college on 18th August, 2018. Around 75 students donated blood to the bank.

Visit to Chronic Paraplegic Patients:

The students of National Service Scheme, SRCC attended a get together of Chronic Paraplegic patients on the occasion of World Health Day on 7th April, 2019.A number of doctors and nurses from various renowned hospitals attended the get together and shared their views on paraplegia. The get together concluded with Mr. Suraj, a Paraplegic patient, teaching the youngsters how to make paper pen with seeds.

Workshop on Self Defence:

NSS SRCC in collaboration with Delhi Police organised a two-day Self Defence Workshop on 26 and 27 September, 2018.

 'KNOW YOUR RIGHTS - EMPOWERMENT THROUGH LEGAL RIGHTS'.

NSS SRCC and Gender Champions SRCC organised a workshop in collaboration with Josh Talks and Vivel. Speaker for the session was Ms. Karuna Nundy, Lawyer, Supreme Court and the theme of the session was ‘KNOW YOUR RIGHTS - EMPOWERMENT THROUGH LEGAL RIGHTS’.

Paint a wall:

To fill the magical colours of happiness and joy in the lives of the people living in Sanjay Camp, the volunteers of NSS SRCC came forward to help the Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation. The volunteers painted the walls at Sanjay Camp on 6th and 7th October, 2018.

Kerala Flood Crisis donation drive:

NSS SRCC, in the wake of Kerala’s worst flood situation organised a relief fund donation drive in the college campus during 21-23 August, 2018

Visit to Slum:

NSS SRCC with its enthusiastic volunteers visited a slum near Model Town on 16th September, 2018. Volunteers explained some basic things like body shaming and personal hygiene.

NSS SRCC in collaboration with kitaab club organized a book donation drive on 18th September, 2018 for promoting the habit of book reading and donating.

NSS Day:

NSS SRCC celebrated NSS day by felicitating the house-keeping staff of college on 24th September, 2018. Our volunteers gave cards to the staff as a token of gratitude and thanked them for all efforts they put in to keep the campus clean.

Home Visits to Cancer Patients:

NSS, SRCC conducted home visits on 2nd March'19 to meet cancer patients, spend some quality time with them and donated some cash (generated out of collecting and selling scrap) for their welfare. It was a memorable experience for the volunteers as well to interact with the patients personally

NSS SRCC in collaboration with Youth for Seva conducted a visit to Arya Model School and Municipal Corporation of Delhi Primary School in Timrapur. Volunteers sensitised primary class students towards cleanliness and basic hygiene.

GIFT LIFE, 2018 (event in collaboration with NOTTO):

NSS SRCC in collaboration with National Organ and Tissue Transplant OrganizationMinistry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India organized ‘GIFT LIFE’, an initiative to promote and support Organ Donation. Event witnessed a massive participation of students in various competitions.
