Project ANKUSH
BEHIND
THE PROJECT
Hunger, hunger is on rise, yet one-third of the total produce is wasted worldwide.
1.3 billion tons of food is wasted every year in India which amounts to over $1 trillion of loss annually.
As a contributing element to the impeding state of the nation, the Global Nutrition Report, 2015 stated that India has an alarming stunting rate at 39% way beyond global rate and ranks 103 out of 119 countries in the Global Hunger Index 2018.
AIM OF THE PROJECT
Project Ankush, actively being at service, aims at avoiding food wastage and fighting hunger by eliminating the distance between the kitchens and the hungry stomachs.
VISION OF THE PROJECT
Just as the perished fruits from farms that doesn't make it to supermarkets, make up a good fertilizer so that vegetation flourishes well, we collect the extra food left from the kitchens of various PGs and hostels and distribute them among the needy on the streets with the motive to feed as many as hungry stomachs and minimize food wastage to the nadir, contributing to a thriving society.
